The uLocate LBS platform is comprised of three core components that together are capable of delivering comprehensive, horizontal solutions that can be tailored to address a wide range of vertical markets. GPS DEVICE MANAGEMENT Mobile phones represent a unique opportunity by virtue of their ubiquity. However, falling GPS chipset prices are resulting in a proliferation of location aware transceivers manufactured in a variety of form factors. These include bracelets, fobs, and a range of modem devices that use SIM cards for transmission. uLocate offers comprehensive device support across all major cellular networks (e.g. CDMA, iDEN, GSM). Device support for mobile phones includes handset clients (developed in J2ME or BREW) that manage: flexible location determination (GPS & cell tower ID) based on availability and accuracy requirements. custom setting of polling interval for sending location data to server ability to dynamically update menu structure and custom feature set as well as complete flexibility to screen display layout and presentation. LBS CAPABILITIES Finder functionality – This the key capablility to locate people, assets, etc. using gps-enabled devices that can transmit their location. This location data is resolved to display physical addresses, routes, and maps, along with distance and speed metrics. Geofencing and alerts – Locations can be geofenced. A geofence is a virtual boundary around a location. When a unit is associated with a geofence it can be reported on. Small businesses can use these reports to improve dispatch efficiency, assess time per job etc. Alerts can also be associated with these events. Parents can be notified when a child arrives home from school, etc. Proximity based information delivery – This feature uses your current location as the point of context for delivering relevant information such directions to nearby points of interest (e.g. ATMs, gas stations, etc.), nearest house for sale, etc. Geo-stamped information management – Cell phones are multi-function devices that can collect and deliver information. uLocate offers support for information such as photographs, that can be captured, delivered, and databased. Additionally simple multiple choice forms can be completed on the handset to identify characteristics of a location / event and automatically transmited to a central repository for databasing and future retrieval. Integrated location driven data sets – In addition to points of interest, uLocate can link in other information sets such as weather, traffic, incident reports etc. that are delivered based on a user's location. CROSS CHANNEL PUSH / PULL BROADCASTING uLocate can broadcast location driven content and alerts across a variety of channels including the web, cell phones, interactive voice, email, and instant messaging.
